Norwegian Black Metal

Ok, this is the way it is... I´m from Sweden, but I´ve been living in Norway for the past sixteen- seventeen years. Also: For the last sixteen- seventeen years I have seen the quality of Norwegian Black Metal (the best!). My favorite in the genre is Satyricon with Sigurd Von Graven as a leadinging man.

Still... I´m an old man, and I find it kind it fascinating and strange when I get to a party and the table is already full of half-empty bottles of "WONGRAVEN"... From the lable of the bottles I learn that Sigurd von Graven - as I said front man of Satyricon - has done a deal with an italian wine merchant and they´ve made a red wine by the name of WONGRAVEN... Black Metal and italian red wine... whadda giveme?

Crazy Swedish -70s Triumph Choppers

Again from the magazine Colorod, early 1970s. The red one was a show winner in Sweden in the day.

I do not watermark my scans because I think it´s ugly and the pictures aren´t really mine to start with, I just scan them from old mags and publish them. So, feel free to steal and reblog my scans, but please do not put your own watermarks on them, and please remember to tell them where you found them! Thanks!

Christmas is over

(I published these in my old blog, but I know I have a bunch of new readers now)

Colorod again

Another fine senter-spread from my favoured 1970s reading; Colorod. This was one of the very few times they sported a nude in a shoot. I had this one on the wall in my room when I was eight or nine years old (yes, my parents were quite liberal)...
I did this scan some time back and I don´t remember what issue it was in, but I´m quite sure it´s from the early -70s.

Christmas is kind of over

One of the reasons I have grown a beard is that it looks cool with a beard when you wear a suit...
Pictures are from christmas eve at my mother in laws, the beanie in the last picture is a christmas present from my youngest son, who´s seven years old. He made it himself :-)

masonic mystery box II

If you follow my blog, maybe you saw a post I did some weeks ago, about a strange masonic box that I bought in a small, mysterious, curiosity shop in Oslo. If you didn´t, you can read it HERE. Today I was on my way home and I thought I´d pop in to that little strange shop again, to see if maybe he had some wax of the old hard kind for sealing christmas gifts. When I was a kid you could buy that stuff in every book store before christmas, but today I´ve been in at least 5, without any luck. So I thought the old geezer in the curiosity shop might have some laying around. The shop was actually still there, despite my dark thoughts last time, but it was closed, no sign or anything, just closed. I went in to the paint shop next door to enquire, and this is what the manager there told me "He´s dead.., he´s dead... died last sunday..." I was quite shocked to hear this, because two months ago, when I bought the box of him, he seemed in perfectly good health. My thoughts again wondered off to those 1950s horror comic books that I thought about last time... What had happened to the nice, but rather strange old man, who had claimed he was a freemason himself..?

More Swedish 1970s Choppers

More Swedish choppers from 1975. Three Sportsters and a Shovel from the same club - Overdose MC - and you can clearly see that there are many similarities between the four bikes. Pictures, again, from the magazine Colorod, this time issue #8 1975.

Swedish Ironhead

They built some pretty wild and wicked choppers in Sweden back in the day (and still do of course!).
This Sportster, a prime example of swedish engineering, was featured in a 1974 issue of my prefered reading in those days; Colorod magazine.

The text in the lower picture reads "Ove Nilsson´s masterpiece, the Super Sportster"
